EBCT: Relationship Between Conventional Risk Factors, Novel Serum Markers, and EBCT Calcium Scores
Cardiac Imaging Research
Study of:
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between EBCT calcium scores and typical cardiac risk factors (high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, tobacco use, age, sex) and new blood test markers. The blood markers examined for this study include C-reactive protein, homocysteine, lipoprotein a, fibrinogen, insulin, and lipid levels.
This information may help doctors identify persons who have a higher likelihood of developing heart disease and start treatment to prevent heart disease.
